becoming a member of rain shadow poetics lab helps support our goal of bringing innovative Cascadian poetry into communities across Vancouver Island
members receive early access to festival events, readings, workshops and panels, a 10% festival pass discount (one per member per year), and first chance to sign up for open mics, readings and workshops hosted by rain shadow poetics lab throughout the year
a members’ newsletter highlighting regional poetic developments is also in the works
members are also encouraged to attend our annual general meeting, to help us shape Cascadian poetics in our corner of the bioregion

rain shadow poetics lab is a volunteer-run registered nonprofit under the BC Societies Act; all monies received go directly back into the Cascadian poetry community: writers’ fees, venue rentals, travel and accommodation, etc.
in solidarity with arts practitioners, rain shadow poetics lab believes poets should be compensated for their work as members of an emergent Cascadian arts union; as such, we strive to ensure that the poets who grace our events are paid ‘at scale,’ in alignment with the writers’ union of canada – your donations help us continue this work
